ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tangleweed formed in 2004 in Chicago, IL, USA., where they remain a popular fixture on the region's folk, bluegrass and world music scenes. Their fifth album, "In the Unlikely Event of a Water Landing," is their first as an acoustic-power-trio featuring original members Billy Oh (fiddle/vocals), Scott Judd (guitar/vocals) and Paul Wargaski (bass/vocals).

"Water Landing" showcases the band's increasingly global leanings, while still staying true to their deep roots in Americana, folk and bluegrass. As evidenced by recent on-stage collaborations with Mali's TERAKAFT and Mauritainia's NOURA MINT SEYMALI, Tangleweed deftly integrates West African and Middle Eastern flavors into their distinctly American sound.
