ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tatsuya Shioya + Miwa Shioya is a Japanese married couple DUO from Tokyo, Japan.
They are one of the most appreciated Gospel artists in Japan.

Tats Shioya writes most of their music. He's been around for 20 years in Japanese music scene.
After he had released 4 albums and 2 maxi singles with "LOVE CIRCUS" which was under contract with SONY music, he started solo-artist activities.
In 1998, Tats became a Christian and started singing as a Gospel singer in and out of the churches. He started Gospel workshops and directed Gospel choirs. His book, "Gospel no hon (The book of Gospel)" has been a long seller among the people who love Gospel music in Japan since it's published first time in 2003 (It's revised in 2010).
In 2001 he started producing the Gospel music label, "GOOD NEWS" which released 7 albums until now. The most of the works were recorded in U.S. with the well known Gospel musicians and singers like Rev. Milton Biggham, James Perry, Sherry McGhee, Bobby Wooten, Joe "Flip" Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Karen Bernod and Melonie Daniels.
And he has conducted Gospel tours since 2001 in which he bring Japanese people to African American churches in NY/NJ areas and let them experience the Black Gospel service where he has sung like in the church of Rev. Donnie McClurkin, Rev. Milton Biggham etc.

Miwa Shioya is the rare and precious child of the Black church in Japan.
Right after she had joined a Black Gospel workshop and experienced its spirit, she went to the Black church in a U.S. military base in Tokyo for around 10 years and even served as a minister and a choir director there.
Soon Miwa has directed many of gospel choirs in and outside of churches and started her own Gospel workshop where you can experience Black Gospel Praise and Worship.
She has enjoyed friendship with many Gospel artists like Edwin Hawkins, the late Bishop Walter Hawakins whose Music ans Arts Conferences she went to regularly, and with Rev. Donnie McClurkin and Rev. Hezekiah Walker through her Gospel tours which she has conducted many times in NY and CA area like her husband did.

In 2008 Miwa and Tats got married and started singing as DUO group and they released a Maxi single, "The Lord's Prayer" together in their name.

This album is their 1st DUO album.
On a couple of songs you hear the saxophones of Ron Brown who's active in the front lines in Smooth Jazz/Gospel scene.
Most of the songs are sung in English and Japanese.
