Album Notes
This piece was written in Valley City, North Dakota whilst I attended Valley City State University in the spring of 2014. Written in tribute to Frederic Chopin, one of my favorite piano composers, I wished to capture the scene of a person deep in though, yet weathered from the long labor of trying to solve the dilemma in the person's mind. Suddenly, a little bird, a hummingbird appears in a playful manner to distract the thinker. It works miraculously and the thinker has a new perspective on the situation as well as a grasp at a possible solution. The pianist is Geraldine Ong who lent her time to reading the piece for the recording.
