ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bent Pussycat is a true Rock and Roll band. With influences like The Who, Sloan, Cheap Trick, The Ramones, The Replacements, and other pioneers and masters of melody driven power rock, it's no wonder the band gains devotees no matter where in the world they are performing. The bands live show has an energy, attitude, and musicality that Rock and Roll has been missing for years. Audiences are mesmerized by the musicianship and captured by the hook driven melodic songs.

The band is from New York, however many other parts of the world now claim them as their own. The success of their first self-titled CD has been over whelming. With sales world wide thanks to the Internet, the band has been able to reach fans of "True Rock and Roll" from the largest cities of United States to the smallest towns of far off continents. The band will be releasing a special E.P. of live tracks and new songs this June 2002 and then will return to the studio in the fall to begin work on a second full length CD.

Bent Pussycat has been gigging regularly for the last 10 months building a following and polishing their live show and performance skills. The band has been working occasionally as an opening act and quite often as headliners depending the situation.

Bent Pussycat's sound is a result of the varied musical interests and experiences of each of the band members. Guitarist/Lead Vocalist Tom Cavanagh has recorded and toured with several successful independent bands and major label acts such as Rhino Caravan, Wardance and The Sons of Infinity. His guitar playing can be heard on well over 100 internationally released CDs and in several movies.

Drummer Antonio Perez has been touring and recording for the last several years and adds a driving-hard hitting-Keith Moon like element to Bent Pussycat that separates them from just being another rock band. Antonio brings with him the experience he has gained from working as a top session musician for dozens of pop, rock, and metal artists and from his touring days with bands like Wardance, Rotgut and Smut.

Guitarist James Erickson fills out the huge guitar tone that the band has and is a vital part of the bands sound. His ability to layer guitar lines and chord embellishments behind Tom is a result of his extensive musical training and performance experience. Outside of Bent Pussycat James is a well known classical guitarist that tours internationally. He appears on many rock and classical CDs and is currently working on his newest solo album.

Bassist Craig Shay draws from many of the same influences that the other band members have. He has a great knowledge of music and is a well respected songwriter himself. He was performing solo as an acoustic artist for sometime before joining Bent Pussycat and is also in the process of recording his first solo CD. His ability to create counter melodies that compliment the parts played by Tom and James and still manage to keep a solid 3low end2 groove with Antonio makes him an absolute asset to the band.

Bent Pussycat has received rave reviews from magazines, radio D.J.s, club owners, critics and most importantly music enthusiasts from around the world and their peers hold them in the highest regards. But don't just base your opinion on a piece of paper. Listen to their CDs and get out and see them!

Amazing Record! Should be a classic
I saw this record on a list of Cd's I would also possibly enjoy and it was dead on. I love the songwriting, the guitar playing, the bass playing, the drummer and the vibe. The production sounds a bit scattered and its apparent that it was not recorded at one location. Better mastering would make this record a hit. The songs are just so strong lyrically and musically. The record is a perfect balance between hard rock, pop and even a little metal. Its hard to catagorize this cd beacuse its so perfectly intermingled in styles. This is a band that certainly has radio potential.
