ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
T. Dan spent his teenage years in Hawaii where he learned to play slack-key guitar (ki ho’alu). He’s spent his entire adult life writing songs that reflect his life’s journey. After leaving the Islands for an education and career in animation on the Mainland, T. Dan continued playing and composing music in the slack-key style, mixed in with a folk/country/rock/blues streak as well. Instrumental slack-key, Christmas songs, praise songs, falling in and out of love songs, search for the meaning of life songs, parody songs, and songs of life, longing and loss. Here are some quotes about T. Dan’s music:

“T. Dan Hofstedt shares the warmth of his heart in his music. His original compositions are songs adrift on the gentle trade winds of some pacific island hideaway. They reflect a laid back vibe of a more peaceful time we yearn to experience once again.” Kamaka Brown, Producer/Writer/Comedian
“His music leaps up from a deep well drenching us in the grand and bittersweet drama of human experience. His voice cuts through to the heart - powerful and resonant with conviction. His songs are stories - brewed in his heart for a billion years. Every word and note of T Dan's music is full of the energy of countless broken hearts, love unrequited, the beauty of a child, the face of God and the voice of an ancient island soul which calls to all of us. A small dipper from that well is never enough to satisfy. Drink deep and enjoy the story in every song.” Duane Loose, Designer/Producer
“T. Dan writes from the heart, with an honest response to the universals in life - love and loss, faith and doubt, and lots of affectionate tribute to musical styles that have influenced him. His tunes always inspire people because they seem to have something we all can relate to. Family, the love of our lives, the heartaches, the funny bones and tear jerkers too.” Lily Dell, Artist/Musical Worship Leader
