Album Notes
My name is Teague Bechtel. I returned to college in 2009 after 6 years on the road as a touring blues musician. My goal was to advance my technique on the guitar and learn the advanced harmonies intrinsic to jazz music. This led me to the music of Blue Note Records from the 1960's. The soul jazz produced by the label really captured my interest. In researching this music, and more specifically the music of Grant Green, I was inspired to write music for a new album. Back at the Roadhouse is the culmination of these efforts, and a project that I am really excited about. Each song has been composed with the spirit of my idols in mind: Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Stanley Turrentine, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. I have performed this music for enthusiastic audiences in the Colorado area and have assembled a group of some of the finest musicians in Colorado to record with. Upon completion of this album I hope to share my passion for blues and jazz music with an even wider audience.
