ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE TEE-M BIO...

TEE-M (Tariq Mirza) grew up in Karachi, Pakistan hearing rock/pop on the short-wave radio, listening to street musicians playing the tunes of the land and learning to play on a hand-me-down guitar. Currently TEE-M is playing around Southern California as a duo with AL The Bassman on the upright and harmonies. He met AL in LA who was also part of his first band "tee-m and the Noizemakers."

They're performing at private parties, cafes, wine bars, clubs and their popular almost every Sunday open-air rehearsals in Palisades Park in Santa Monica. "Your passion, your energy and your presence is just awesome man. And yeah thanks for inviting us to the most beautiful rehearsal hall in the world..." ---Imran Ahmed, Producer, DP, Pakistan's GEO TV.

The new TEE-M CD is "14 Songs You Just Might Know..." a selection of songs that inspired and kicked TEE-M to pick up the guitar and sing in the first place while growing up in Karachi. Hearing Bill Haley's "Shake Rattle and Roll" when maybe five years old at a family picnic for the first time, and going, "wow, what fun." Hearing Elvis' records spun by older brothers and cousins was a always a treat and listening to the Everly Brothers harmonies cutting through the static of the short-wave radio was a heart piercing delight. Then the British Invasion happened with The Beatles and that was it, TEE-M lost his soul to Rock 'n Roll. The album also includes a Bollywood classic "Mere Sapnon Ki Rani" and 3 originals "Screen Poppin' Love" "Last Night" and "Kisses By The Bucket." The 20 songs, two day sessions were recorded 'LIVE' at engineer Chuck Mancillas' Hana Lee Studio in Whittier, CA and narrowed down to the final 14 songs for the CD.

TEE-M makes history at Santa Monica City Hall for being the first musical act to perform in the City Hall Chambers...Two original TEE-M songs were performed..."Aao Aao Aao (sugi ka halwa) and not yet recorded "Senorita Margarita."

Toured for Starbucks all over Southern California & 4 Pakistan Tours, on the 2007 tour of Pakistan, TEE-M was sponsored by Alliance France to play in 3 different cities of Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, for "The Fête de la Musique," world music day, which originated in France. Performed in TX, CT, NJ, Boston, CA. Selected for SOLD OUT 2nd South Asian Music Festival, Times Square, NY.
Asked to perform at John Lennon's 25th Memorial at Capitol Records, Hollywood, and lit the 1st of 25 Peace Candles. TEE-M featured in the short film, The Ultimate Song ("a real winner" New York Times) produced by Lee Ballinger, includes Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Wayne Kramer (MC5), Tom Morello, Ice T, Steve Earle & others. The film has been shown at Farm Aid and SXSW. TEE-M was also featured in Huffington Post.

TEE-M selected one of "100 Hottest Unsigned Artists" 5 Years In A Row--Music Connection Magazine.

The video was also the Official Selection at 8 Film & Music Festivals around the globe including Cannes Independent, France.

The song is also a highlight of TEE-M's live performances around the world with the audience sing along.

TEE-M co-hosted "TEE-M's UNsigned Music Show" for over 6 years, with Mike Stark (Author: Black Sabbath: An Oral History) and radio personality on WPMD, Cerritos College, Norwalk, CA. The show exposed hundred's of independent artists to a worldwide audience. Mike also co-hosts a show with Black Sabbath's drummer Bill Ward.
