ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In the Islands
This song was written about Tepoe's travels to the beautiful islands of the Caribbean.

Story behind the song:

"My wife and I were talking one day about what a great time we had on one of the cruises we went on, and I said, I need to write an island song sometime. A few moments later, I ended up with a guitar in my hands and this song just flowed out in its entirety.

I have so many great memories from the Caribbean. My wife and I spent our honeymoon on the beautiful island of Saint Lucia! We also have celebrated two of our anniversaries in the Caribbean. One of my favorite experiences was a 14 day cruise where we visited 9 islands, which started on the beautiful island of Aruba on our anniversary. From there we visited Curaçao, Grenada, Barbados, St. Vincent, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Santo Domingo, and Grand Turk! It was a picture perfect cruise with beautiful weather and calm seas! We've met so many great people in the Caribbean, and one of them is referenced in the song. Mrs. Clarina Gomez, who was our tour guide in Curacao, was so nice to us and made us feel like we were at home there. She even invited us to her home to try a famous Christmas dish in Curaçao called the Ayaka.
One of the main aspects that I love about the Caribbean is the fact that every island there has its own unique history, culture, and natural beauty. If you want to take a great vacation, I would definitely recommend the Caribbean! The people there are friendly, the temperature is perfect, the food is great, and the beaches and water are beautiful! I hope you enjoy my first island song, and If you ever take that Caribbean vacation, I hope you take this song with you and make a toast to me while it's playing!!!!!"
