ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Story Behind the Song:

"When I was growing up, just about every family outing we had on the Nash side always included a jam session with my Dad, Uncle S.T., and any other family member who wanted to join in. I was looking at an old photo a while back of my Dad, Malcom Nash and my Uncle, S.T. and realized that it was the only one I had of them playing together. It brought back some great memories of my family. A few moments later while I was playing my guitar, I started thinking about the family gatherings and this song came to my mind. My grandfather, Lilburn Nash, or as we called him "Pappy" really liked Merle's music, and the first time I heard Merle was with him. After playing the song and thinking about the picture, I decided to record and release my version of it in memory of those great times with my family. The album cover for the song is the picture of my family that inspired this version. My Dad is playing mandolin and my uncle S.T. is playing my Dad's guitar. I was sitting in the floor with amazement trying to sing along with them. Also pictured is my Aunt Mary and cousin Rhonda.

I was saddened when Merle passed away last year and wish I could have met him. His music was some of the greatest of all time! I hope you enjoy my version of his song, and that it brings back some great memories for you as it will always do for me!!!!"
