Album Notes
"It’s when we’re standing with tired shoulders slumped in the midst of the ugly, crumbling pieces of our lives that we can look up and find the real Beauty shining."

This sophomore project from Terah Lynn is a 6-song EP that showcases not only her unique writing style, which is a lyrically weighty alternative pop/rock fused with world and classical influences, but also her passion for reaching into the hurting places with the unconditional love of God. The songs address real life matters in an unflinching yet hopeful way, juxtaposing gritty topics with music that is sometimes lighthearted and sometimes pensive, but always beautifully melodic.

Terah Lynn, a wife and mother of two, has written songs for TV and radio programs, as well as musicals performed onstage. “A Love Song”, her powerful first single from this EP which released last July, was picked up for radio play by NewLife 90.1/97.1 FM, out of Griffin, GA. Her second single, “Life Goes On”, was Download of the Week on UPtv.com a month after its July release. This EP follows the 2011 release of Terah Lynn’s first full-length album, In Simplicity.

Terah Lynn says about this album, “I am excited about sharing this new project, which is a departure from my first in both style and subject matter. As a Christian I have sometimes struggled with finding the balance between my joy in being a daughter of God, and doubts caused by some deep questions. This album is about sharing some of that struggle, but also about the Hope that always ends up shining through.”

Beauty in Broken Down Places
These six songs provide musical and lyrical variety that covers a wide range of personal and spiritual experience. You'll find yourself, at times, swept up in in the sound and emotions evoked by the thought provoking lyrics (Bridges). At other times you'll enjoy the upbeat rhythm and encouraging message (Life Goes On). The most impressive aspects of this EP are the musical variety and the encouragement you will feel if you are, like most of us, engaged in a spiritual search. "You Know My Name" stands out for its reassuring message. All of the compositions are rich in imagery and musical depth. Every time you listen you will hear nuances that you didn't notice the first or second time through. Listen carefully and expectantly. You will be blessed.
