Album Notes
Terese Genecco (pronounced "Teh-REECE Jeh-NECK-oh") and her 8-piece "little big band* are currently headlining in New York City at The Iridium Jazz Club in the longest-running nightclub act on Broadway. Ticket and show details are available at http://www.iridiumjazzclub.com.

From The New York Times Style Magazine, July 2010: "If you own nothing of [Frances] Faye's...'Caught In The Act' is a good place to start. So is Terese Genecco, who performs songs identified with Faye at the New York club Iridium. PLEASE DON'T STOP READING. Genecco is no dumb tribute act. She does not want to be Frances Faye; she does make you understand why she's so important."~ Christopher Petkanas; The New York Times Style Magazine

Music critic Rob Lester asks, “Is it cabaret? Is it jazz? Is it rhythm & blues?” and answers, “When Terese Genecco sings, it’s all of the above, but more than that, it’s a PARTY!”

Critics and audiences are in agreement. Genecco has garnered nothing but rave reviews since taking the jazz/cabaret/nightclub world by storm in 2003 with her original musical creation, “DRUNK WITH LOVE: A TRIBUTE TO FRANCES FAYE!” The Bay Area Reporter proclaimed, “Drunk With Love is INTOXICATING!” The San Francisco Bay Times music critic declared that “Genecco and her knock-out band delivered one of the most engrossing, all-out talented performances seen in years.” TalkinBroadway and TheaterMania critics have hailed Genecco and her shows as “Captivating!” and described her as “An entertainer with a capital E!” Next Magazine asserts, “If you don’t know who Frances Faye was, you should. And if you don’t know who Terese Genecco is, you WILL!” Time Out New York Magazine named Genecco to their Top Ten Best List of cabaret shows two years in a row and continue to list their appearances as "Critics Picks" and "Frisky, Retro Fun!" The San Francisco Examiner calls Genecco the love-child of Dean Martin and Judy Garland and states that "it's a gloomy world out there, but with Terese Genecco & her little big band in the house, it's a whole lot brighter!"

Genecco created and first performed “Drunk With Love:A Tribute To Frances Faye!” in the summer of 2005, where it made its world premiere in a five-week run at San Francisco’s New Conservatory Theater Center. After subsequently headlining in San Francisco at The Plush Room, Jazz At Pearl's and other local venues, she was signed to a one-year contract at The Rrazz Room in the Hotel Nikko in downtown San Francisco in 2008 where she appeared with her *little big band* for 24 performances. Since then, Genecco has relocated to New York City for a headlining engagement (on the Last Tuesday of every month) at The Iridium Jazz Club on Broadway.

Other notable performances include headlining engagements at The Peppermill Hotel & Casino in Reno, The Fillmore Jazz Festival and the Gay Pride Main Stage in San Francisco, and as the opening act for Grammy Award Winner Steve Tyrell at The Bergen Performing Arts Center. Genecco has also appeared in New York City at B. B. King Blues Club & Grille, Rose Hall at Jazz At Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Room, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and in the Nightlife Award-Winning Series "Under The Covers" at Don't Tell Mama.

Genecco also appears annually in Hollywood where she is accompanied by Latin percussion legend JACK "MR BONGO" COSTANZO. Costanzo played on Frances Faye's 1958 live recording "Caught In The Act!" and is credited with introducing the bongos into American popular music with The Stan Kenton Orchestra in the early 1950s. Costanzo toured the world with Nat "King" Cole, appeared in feature films with Pat Boone, Elvis Presley, Danny Kaye, Jerry Lewis, and Red Skelton, and made numerous television appearances including The Dinah Shore and Ed Sullivan shows.

Four live performances of Terese Genecco's “Drunk With Love: A Tribute To Frances Faye!” were recorded at The Metropolitan Room in New York City in October of 2006. These recordings were released on the independent music label, BUG:OUT:MUSIC, in April of 2007. Genecco's debut CD can be considered a companion piece to Frances Faye's "Caught In The Act" LP's from 1958 and 1963 on the GNP Crescendo Records label.

The official "Drunk With Love" CD website is: http://www.drunkwithlove.com. Go there to read Genecco's notes on the songs and arrangements, the liner notes, the band members, and her prolific thanks to everyone who took part in the project.

Everything I imagined it to be and more!
Loved it; it was almost as good as having her here performing in front of me. Her voice is so clear, and the quality is excellent. If I close my eyes, I'm there!

One of the best live CDs I've heard
I didn't think a CD alone could capture the excitement of the live show, but I was wrong. Terese's energy & humor, her extreme likability, her love of the material, her joyful relationship with her band, and her easy camaraderie with the audience all come across. Not to mention the quality of the music... This is one of the best live CDs I've heard, with stellar performances by all concerned.

Just like being there!
My cd arrived Friday and then I went to see Terese on Saturday. The show is captured amazingly on this disc. I brought 4 friends to the show and converted them to being believers of both Terese and Ms. Frances Faye!

Linda Kosut

I have seen Terese's live show, I don't remember how many times, yet each time she just gets better and better. Well, this CD is truly like being at one of her live performances. Every nuance, every joke, every poignant moment is captured. And her voice ... one of the best around, bar none. She is a star rising. Don't miss this CD.

Terese is sensational
This CD captures the excitement and the joy of Genneco's remarkable tribute to Frances Faye. Without impersonating Ms. Faye, Terese gives us the sensation of enjoying one of her shows, ringside, 50 years ago. It doesn't hurt that Terese is one of the most remarkable new singers to be found. Musically impeccable and vocally superb!

David Silk

Loved it
Can't wait to see Terese when she returns to NYC.
