ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Recently proclaimed by long-time music scribe, David Becker (SF Examiner/AXS.com), as the San Francisco Bay areas #1 Jazz Guitarist, Multiple-Award winning guitarist Terrence Brewer is a first-call and in-demand bandleader, record producer, concert performer, studio musician, and one of the San Francisco Bay area’s foremost and sought after music educators.

Terrence Brewer returns Celebrating the release of his 10th album as a bandleader, "THE TB 3". "THE TB 3" is an amazing collection of jazz standards by Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk, Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, George Gershwin, and others. Showcasing his versatility as a bandleader, arranger, and improviser, Brewer, once again, delivers an amazing tribute to the jazz legends who have come before him.

Described by JazzTimes as “A melodic improviser with an exquisite tone and an abundance of soul,” multiple award-winning guitarist Terrence Brewer celebrates the release of his new album (and 10th album as a band-leader) "The TB3" - joined by a masterful ensemble consisting of Brewer's long-time Bay Area musical collaborators, Brandon Essex (Acoustic Bass) and Micah McClain (Drums). Born in Oklahoma but raised in the East Bay, Brewer cut his teeth in the San Francisco jazz scene, studying with Charlie Hunter and Mark Levine before rocketing to national attention with his 2006 debut release, The Calling: Vol. One. He has shared the stage with artists including Diana Krall, Mary Wilson, Gerald Albright and the Doobie Brothers’ Michael McDonald, and released six albums on his own Strong Brew label. In addition to his relentless schedule as an in-demand performer with his jazz combos and ultra-funky Citizen Rhythm project, Brewer is a dedicated educator, conducting workshops and master classes around the Bay Area including a long history with SFJAZZ’s Jazz In The Middle program.
