Album Notes
Terry Davidson's 2016 studio album, "Transmission" presents twelve new original songs.
Recorded at Sonic Lounge Studios in Ohio and co-produced by Davidson and Joe Viers,
the record features a fantastic new lineup for his band, The Gears. It is the follow up to
2013's acclaimed "Sonic Soul Sessions" which was on the Roots Music Report National
Blues Album Chart for eight weeks.

Terry Davidson has been playing in Blues and Rock & Roll bands for over fifty years.
As leader of the Gears since the mid 80's, his compelling performances have won over fans from
everywhere in the Central and Eastern U.S. to as far as Paris, France. Songs from his previous
seven albums have been featured in television and movie soundtracks and broadcast all over the world.

The compositions on "Transmission" see Davidson covering a wide variety of styles and influences.
Many songs are co-written with bassist Bill Geist. Ranging from raw Rock and Roll and simmering Blues
to funky Soul and even Country. The Gears touch all the bases on this one. Terry reveals "We just let it fly.
Played what we loved. No worries. I mean, we've done shows over the years with everyone from AC/DC to
Muddy Waters. Some of that's got to rub off."

"Bad Bad Bad", "Damaged and Blue" and "This Means War" hearken back to the guitar driven Rock and Roll roots
of early Gears albums. The Bangshift Horns - Snakebite Roberts and John Hill - and the human click
track, drummer Dewayne Cupe, bring a whole new sound to other songs on the album. Funky, Bluesy and Groovin'
best describes the tracks "Love Twist", "Thirteen Hour Train" and "My Baby's Not Around".
The cinematic "The Rush", the Latin styled "Leopard Girl and Monkey Man" and Country tinged "Tuesday at Two" show
the band's remarkable musical versatility. Davidson admits, "I'm really thrilled with the album. It's true to my roots, yet
"Transmission" shifts into something distinctly different."
