Album Notes
This album represents a lifetime of experience, living, writing and performing in some of the most beautiful places in the country, from the Lost Coast of Northern California and the Mountain Towns of Idaho, to the Safe Harbors of Florida.

My songs have been influenced by being born and raised in the Chicago area with its rich history of music, just as much as living in a farm house in Sand Hollow, Idaho, and returning to Illinois to raise a family. I am fortunate to have traveled so far and met such inspiring people and witnessed scenes that just had to become songs.

My songs range from the mystery and danger of The Crossroads, an homage to Robert Johnson and just what would it be like if you made that deal with the Devil, the perils of addiction in Bad Day in Paradise, to the joys of love and family in Love For Sure and Sometimes a Son. The Shores of Lake Michigan represents the cycle of my life, from a childhood spent enjoying Lake Michigan, to returning to my home town and raising our children here with my wonderful wife Bernie and watching life repeat itself. Ain't No Right Way came from a statement made by an inmate at Lake County Jail one night while I was running a meeting, when he got thru relating how he wound up behind bars by saying "when you get right down to it, their just ain't no right way to do the wrong thing." And I went home that night and wrote that song!

As I said, a lifetime of experience.
