Great Great Great Texas Music !
This CD is aces start to finish... just got done listening to all 14 tunes. What a shame that all this talent flies under the national radar while mainstream corporate radio shoves so-called current "country music" down everyone's throats. If you listen to Track 2 Stand Up On That Mountain and close your eyes, you'll think you are hearing the ghost of Waylon Jennings! A stellar effort from some of the best players in Texas.

Texas Aces is the real deal!
If you, like me, love real rockin' country and are not into the pop stuff coming out of Nashville right now then you'll love this album. I personally don't need to hear more songs about jacked up trucks or faux nostalgia for life in a small town. The lead singer/songwriter, Mike Clifford, proves that you don't have to add a lot of twang to be country. His rich, baritone voice ranks right up there with the likes of Waylon, Johnny Cash, and George Strait. Every track on the album is great. If you've ever seen a Texas sunset you'll love the beautiful imagery of "West Texas Sun", and if you don't start spontaneously dancing to "Get the L Outta LA" there's something wrong with you!

Rocking Texas Country
I'm not a huge country music fan, but this CD stikes a cool balance between country and rock and roll. There's plenty of steel guitar, fiddle, and honky-tonk piano as well as hard rawkin electric guitar licks, all played by some ace musicians. Songs are very memorable, diverse, and not your typical "cry in your beer" country.

A Lone Star Original
“Texas Aces” recalls the best of Waylon Jennings, and Pauline Reese adds a certain sassy flavor to several tunes including “It’s All Texas Music To Me” and "My Heart's Got A Mind Of Its Own". “Get The ‘L’ Outta L.A.” merges California country-rock with Texas honky-tonk to create a tuneful, boot-kicking sound, and there are several other great corkers including the bluesy “That’s The Thanks I Get”. Really, there’s not a bad track in the collection.
