Album Notes
That Penn Thing is about those damned daunting feelings, and Penn Weickhardt sings it raw. There are glib moments, head on with no minced words. Hence, songs for anyone who’s ever been head over heels can relate to; been there, done that. “I have actually been inspired from my past. I reveal the struggle of being caught up in the moment. Romance and then estrangement. For me, writing songs about heartache has aspired positive, healing energy in the end. ”

Inspiration from friends and fans of Penn brought this album to life. The compilation of genuine talent includes bassist Tommy Dominick, Rachel Scott on the drums, Allusion Studios/Jim Pavett, recording engineer Chase Welch, and Scott Dailey (producer of a previous release of Penn’s & accompanying songwriter). Scott believed in the music genre and played an inspirational & visionary role in That Penn Thing. “The collection of songs which started out with just an acoustic guitar and my voice pouring out emotions, turned into something I could not have created on my own.“
