Album Notes
Underground music legend JAYL - Proudly presents: - THE BAND OF LIFE - MAN OF THE SUN EP. 4 brand new songs for 2019, released on the Harmony Label. 2 epic film soundtrack style railway ghost stories in the Olde English tradition - LAST TRAIN and ENTWISTLE - in collaboration with Jayl's friend and colleague - Composer/Musician/Producer - Carl Mercieri. Another fabulous Sax performance by Matt Clackett. Backing vocals by Jayl's latest Harmony School protégé - Ella Dowling.
Jayl telling his own remarkable story on the lyrics to MAN OF THE SUN - of his amazing life with his beautiful wife and muse - Niki and his eclectic and exciting musical and artistic journey. This searing song of faith, hope, love and defiance is a collaboration with Jayl's friend and colleague - Composer/Musician/Producer - Shem Booth-Spain (Notions of Synthetic Life - also released January 2019). This is also the 6th song Jayl and Shem have composed together for The Band of Life, including the sister track to this one - LADY OF THE MOON. Awesome guitars on this number by Jimmie Bone.
And finally TOKYO - a haunting, piano, vocal track with Jayl's old friend and family colleague - John Bach Sayer; their first collaboration in many years - RETURN OF THE MOON.
