Album Notes
The Barefoot Movement Christmas Album is a compilation of well known holiday songs, rendered by the hands and voices of fiddler, Noah Wall, guitarist Alex Conerly, mandolinist Tommy Norris, and upright bassist Katie Blomarz. Shimmering with holiday luster, these classic songs shine with a new acoustic sheen. Main vocalist Noah Wall says, "I've loved these songs all my life and I've listened to them every year, but I have never heard many of them done completely acoustically. We enjoy taking pop or rock songs and adapting them to our instruments and voices, and we do our best to keep the original integrity in tact, because we don't want to lose what we loved about them in the first place in the translation. Christmas songs are such a natural fit for that kind of experimentation and we are really proud of how the recordings turned out." The album takes the listener on a festive journey, from crooner style pop, as in Perry Como's "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" or "No Place Like Home For The Holidays" to the R&B styles recalled on "Baby Please Come Home," in homage to Darlene Love, and The Jackson 5's version of "Santa Claus is Coming To Town." Complete with all new, heartfelt arrangements of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" and "Oh Holy Night," plus a show stopping medley of two versions of "White Christmas," this collection has something for everyone. It successfully melds the various genres into a cohesive sound all it's own, while emitting the warmth, joy, and happiness of the season. With all the ingredients required to make an irresistible melodious treat, The Barefoot Movement Christmas Album is well on its way to becoming a Yuletide staple for lovers of holiday music across the board.

Wow, what a surprise!
I normally find christmas cover albums pretty lame. The Barefoot Movement Christmas Album is an exception. This is one of the best holiday albums I have heard in a long time. Great musical arrangements that are both nostalgic but fresh at the same time.
