ABOUT THIS ALBUM


Album Notes
This album represents a loss of fragility of sorts for the Barred Owls. Unlike Hoo Cooks for Y'All, this album was multi-tracked and recorded over a long period of time until we felt it was ready to leave the nest. Our originals are inspired by some pretty weighty topics - the inequalities of our justice system; suburban over-development; confusion in love; unrequited/lost love, and most of all, finding joy in love. We have added people and instruments - bass, tambourine, and some kick-ass extra guitar players as guest artists, most exemplified in the multi-instrumental final track The Far Divide. We have stayed true to one of our multiple personalities by including a medley of Scottish fiddle tunes. It's been a wonderful journey and we hope you find a little something to hang onto and dream about...
