Album Notes
We are so excited to release our new CD, THE GARAGE SESSIONS on February 21. 2020. Wayne Smith is the producer and arranger of all 20 songs. Wayne wrote and composed 11 songs and he composed and arranged the music on the 3 songs BC wrote. There are 6 cover songs that Wayne re-arranged. He added lyrics to two instrumentals, re-wrote the verses on two songs and completely re-arranged the music on all of them, including a major re-write of a song covered by John Denver, but written by Deena Kaye Rose. This CD is about the insanity of feelings and life transitions around love, chaos, addiction and humanity. If there was a time we hope you understand who we are as musicians, Dennis Weiand (Organ Den Studio) and Mark Trewella (Full Circle Mastering) successfully recorded live in Wayne's basement and garage to capture our persona. Below are our angels (Dennis, Mark and the Zellers) and all the amazingly talented musicians who contributed to this project. It's not about being a Blues band or classifying us in a labeled category like Americana or Roots music... it's all about the sound and the inspiration behind what we are saying and how we are saying it. We hope you support our brand of music.

This project was inspired by P. F. Sloan and propelled through to completion after Wayne read his biography. This album is all about passion and how it evolved into many moods from moments in life and firm beliefs about humanity. Whether going nuts from not getting any soulful music, while driving straight through from LA back to PA to resolve heartache. Or mental notes captured from behind the microphone after years of watching relationships develop, deteriorate or worse. Then our own addictions... perceived, desired or not, into manic emotional roller coaster rides. And then the insanity of it all; repeating the same thing over and over again that is driven by the sometimes dark and very lonely calling of musicianship. It took ten years to complete this project and several strained relationships along the way. Fortunately, it all came out better than expected and will likely be the best of our nearly 30 vested years together. It’s not about being a Blues album or some undefinable category to define what transpired. Put your headphones on, turn it up and God help you if you are in an altered state. Music is absolutely the medicine for the heart, soul and mind. There should be at least something within these 20 songs of pure originality that you will immerse yourself in repeatedly. Once you find it, you will understand it. We poured ourselves into this. It was all recorded live in Wayne’s basement, using the garage as a sound chamber. We may never fully recover from all it took out of us. Our drummer and bass player left after the final recording was completed... that alone should convey the strain and individual interpretations of what transpired. So our hopes are that this project is successful on many levels.
