Album Notes
Hello new Biddle City Band listeners... We play original acoustic music with lyrics that explore love, heartbreak, politics, dreams, humor and being human in the 21st Century. And we use a range of instruments to create this original feel... from guitars to banjo to keyboard, bass and hand percussion. This combination of songs, we hope, will brighten your day and push you inside to think about some questions that come with living, questions we all have, not always easy but real in these times.

So, “Why Biddle City?” you may ask. Well, in 1835 the Ford brothers from New York purchased the area now known as REO Town Lansing Michigan, which lay in a floodplain and was underwater most of the year. They plotted the land, named their nonexistent settlement Biddle City and began selling plots to the good citizens of Lansing, New York. When the first 16 men arrived, they discovered they’d been scammed. Some of the intrepid group stayed anyway, and founded the "real" Lansing, Michigan.

So today, The Biddle City Band celebrates these local traditions of creativity, chicanery, and dogged determination, with Sign of a Circle, our second CD. We loved recording it, we hope you love listening, and thanks!
