Album Notes
With a love for anything steeped in R&B and the feeling of a live band experience, THE BLACK REDS introduces Martin Doluz & David McDaniel from Honolulu, HI. Having met back in 2010 they set out playing live gigs in genres ranging from industrial rock to jazz quartets. From the very beginning, they began working on producing music they would love to play on stage.

Listening to artists young and old on vinyl such as The Gaslight Anthem, Danger Mouse, The Roots, Marvin Gaye and The Replacements led to many nights of songwriting and reflection resulting in a unique combination of music. This organic experience translated into a full length record that will be pressed on vinyl as well as offered in modern digital formats. As musicians trained in improvisational performance, they bring all this together with music straight from the heart.

THE BLACK REDS combine real rock and roll with soulful ballads to bring you an electrified album, VOLTAGE. This debut album tells the story of a journey through the crumbling world of mediocrity and malcontent with the hope that there must be something more-- a way out of what we see around us. VOLTAGE takes you through moments of distress, longing, heartbreak and desire that invigorate the senses and the soul.

Recorded in Martin and David's home studios and Tiny Telephone (San Francisco, CA) with Jake Bagshaw; then mixed by Adrian Breakspear (Pharrel Williams, Gang of Youths, Ricky Martin), The River is the first track lifted off The Black Reds full length record set for release in 2016.
