another wonderful release ..... !!!!
I have been and continue to be a major fan of this band............!!
This album is an accoustical take of some previous songs and some new ones................which are all excellent.......
I highly recommend this album --- all of the Black River Band music is simply stellar..........and on constant replay at home and on the road for me -- on the road and the aloneness of life --- hit to the origin of so many songs...................

Long Awaited New Material
Just got done listening to the entire record, Down in America. An interesting mix of songs which make a defined statement on the mythos of America. The title track (my favorite) pretty much sets up the mood of the whole record. Songs like American Man and I Came Home, though from earlier recordings, resonate clearer here with the new take on them. Also tracks like Further, Truth had only live interpretations before now have these recorded versions which make their own mark. This record is another in the long line of definitive statements made by the band about the country, its leadership, and the evaporation of humanity in the climate of technology and social change. If you're a fan of the band, this is a must have or if this is your first experience with their music this collection is a worth while investment.
