ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After the success of his first two albums ('View from the Bath' and 'The Rise and Fall of Responsibility') the UK based Brigadier (Matt Williams) has continued his layered one man band approach by making a classic pop record 'Time is a Wound'. The songs primarily have love themes but each with it's own flavour and unique take on the subject. Musically the record dips into many places from sunshine Power-pop to Electro funk to Rockabilly to Ambient and beyond but each containing the Brigadier signature of great melody above everything else.

It just keeps getting better!
A great album and a great follow up to the previous 2! (I have both of those as well) Lyrically and instrumentally thought provoking, melodic, beautifully written and performed and even whimsical at times and overall a very good listen. Highly recommended! Keep up the good work Matt, looking forward to the next one!

Lush, creative power pop!
Another excellent release from The Brigadier! Standouts include the Bee Gees-meets-Queen "Why Don't You Love Me," the perky Lindsey Buckingham-like "Traditional Lovesong," the classic pop of "Something Good," and the surprising rockabilly turn of "I Like the Look of You." And the production/arranging is sublime, as usual. Great stuff!

A hat-trick of hit albums!
This eagerly-awaited third album "Time is a Wound” delivers all the promise expected and confirms The Brigadier's place as the most exciting, innovative Indie recording artist in the music world today!
It's an excellent track list - an impressive collection of interesting and exciting songs to add to his back catalogue of fan favourites on the earlier albums and his popular MySpace music page.
“I’m gonna make you mine Missy”, "Why Don't You Love Me", "Oh, Paddington" are all strong catchy songs with a great pop feel. The new mixes enhance the sound and take the tracks to a new level.
"Watch Me Cry" is the stand out track for me - a classic, timeless song with a melancholy, atmospheric, haunting beauty that makes your spine tingle.
And "Something Good" is just gorgeous - the lone acoustic guitar beginning breaking into a full wall of sound production is pure class.
The Brigadier aka Matt Williams is a master songwriter and music producer working at the top of his craft - self-releasing against all the major artists and standing head and shoulders right up there with the best of them. This sounds like essential listening.
The “King of Indie Cool” has done it again - securing his well-earned place at the heart of the pop charts!

Well done!

Time is a Wound
The third album from The Brigadier sees some of his strongest material to date, retaining his layered, beautifully arranged , high grade eclectic pop rock style. You won't be disappointed. Stand out tracks include the punchy opener 'I'm gonna make you mine Missy' with it's haunting thematic chorus, to the superb title track 'Time is a Wound' and if you haven't yet heard 'Watch Me Cry' yet then it's time you treated your ears to this gem.
