ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
To our Buddaheads’ friends, supporters, and fans:

With deep sadness, we say goodbye to Alan Mirikitani, founding member of The Buddaheads, who passed away July 22nd. We were shocked to receive this tragic news, which happened the very day after all music and CD credits for this new CD were received at the label. The band devoted one year to choosing and perfecting the music for this CD. They invited some of the world’s greatest musicians into the studio to add those final ingredients of character, which make this CD one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to release.

It is an honor to have spent the past decade working closely with the band to create masterpiece work with each new release. My involvement in the final recording and mixing process of this project makes me quite certain that Alan would not want this CD to be a tribute work.

We believe, as captured in the title, this music from The Buddaheads is best described as “Something New”.
