ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Friends for several years, Rorie Kelly and Eric Jay have joined together to form a new band, The Burnt Roses. Shortly after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Eric Jay penned the lyrics to "We Will Mend," a tribute to the lives lost that day. Earlier this year (2013), Rorie Kelly took Eric's words and crafted and shaped the music that truly brought the song to life. When Phil Winterfield of Harmolin Studio on Long Island offered to record the track, the ball began to roll for an intended release date to coincide with the first anniversary of the Newtown tragedy. Rorie and Eric plan to collaborate on future tracks together to make songs for healing, hope, and humanity.

Wonderful Tribute
This is a fitting tribute to the innocent children and courageous educators who lost their lives to mindless, unfathomably deranged violence at Sandy Hill Elementary School on December 14, 2012. The beautiful lyrics and haunting melody, coupled with Rorie and Eric's lovely voices, underscore a call to "sweep up the pieces" and end the bloodshed. Let's hope all who hear this song will truly listen.
