ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Canoes are:

Gut Johnston: “Hans Petter Aaserud”

Mustard Wilson: “Arne Hovda”

Kidney John: “Erik Norvald Røe”

Birdman Breaklove: “Chris Barron”

The Canoes are a Man Band. The music is Dad Rock... bouncy, old school Rock And Roll with a side helping of Country and an occasional twist of Soul. Every once in a song you can hear the faintest hint of Blues if you`re lucky.
Everyone is a lead singer, so different members sing lead on different songs and there’s lots of four part harmony.

The Canoes have travelled the world on their quest for that good song, and have consequently met up and worked in places like Svalbard (600 miles from the North Pole), Engelsholm Castle in Denmark (finished 1592), Hyde Lane Farm in Buckinghamshire (sheep- shearing farm), 1222 Finse, Norway (where they filmed part of The Empire strikes back), Gibson Studios, New York, Whiteroom Studios, Norway (Guts studio in Asker), Nordic House, the Faroe Islands, Litle Aadnoey (an island outside of Stavanger), Magnebu, Mustards cabin in the mountains, Sulebu, Kidneys cabin in the mountains and so on and so forth.
