Album Notes
The Cheez (Cees van Ooijen) is a multi instrumentalist from Rotterdam (The Netherlands)..
He started his first band during the late 80's a.o..inspired by Rush, although things became more serious after joining WASTELANDS in 1996 as their keyboardplayer and backing vocalist.
With WASTELANDS he recorded 2 mini albums called 'EXISTENCE'(2000) and 'DARK AGES' (2004).
After Wastelands split up he became the main composer and driving force of ANDROID SOUL losing the typical 80's sound of Wastelands, focussing more on orchestral symphonic rock. ANDROID SOUL released a full lenght album 'DISAPPOINTING PARADISE' in 2008.
Although never officially splitting up, ANDROID SOUL hasn't been active anymore.
Since 2010 The Cheez is active as a solo artist on the internet collaborating with old bandmembers as well as people all over
the world playing progressive rock covers and original songs.
The sound of his solowork features rich orchestrations and thick layers of vocal harmonies which isn't strange having Valensia
and bands like Yes and Queen as main inspiration.
In 2013 The first solo album called 'The Lost Decade' was released. Apart from other projects The Cheez released his 2nd album entitled 'Blue Ballerina' in the summer of 2014
