Berit, Vol. 1

by The Commander in Chief

Hauntingly beautiful and catchy songs, with a touch of the -70s, mixed with a huge portion of originality and stunning, organic performances. Is she the most versatile virtuoso of our time?

Album Notes
Hauntingly beautiful and catchy songs, from The Commander In Chief, who stuns with this very surprising album, showcasing a softer and more soulful musical side of her.
"This album needs to be heard - by everyone! She is a talent of a generation" said Rick Palin, owner and MD at Skyfire Records /Firebrand Radio, after hearing it.
While her previous releases have focused on technically impressive, and almost impossible, guitar playing, hard hitting lyrics and high energy, this album has its focus on her incredible songwriting skills and the voice. Her almost inhuman voice shines in every song, at times being mellow and sad, in others hitting notes and registers that seems almost impossible for a human being. While the guitars are prominently featured in most of the songs, the electric guitar plays the part of the supporting partner this time; in a beautifully synchronised dance between them.
She also shows us "Berit - the piano player" in two of the songs.

Her successful transition to classical crossover, with a number one album on Amazon in 2015, came after she had smashed her way into the metal scene, at a very young age. Featured as "1 0f 10 guitar gods" in Metal Hammer, UK, and "The new Queen of shred" in Total Guitar Magazine, she was award nominated as a songwriter and played major festivals in Europe, before she took on the challenge of being the first guitarist in the world to record, and perform live, Sarasate's masterpiece for violin virtuosos, Zigeunerweisen, on guitar. The video for the song ended up on the "top 10 viral videos of the year" list, in world leading Guitar World Magazine. What was supposed to be a one off song became so popular that she recorded a classical crossover album with leading classical guitarist, Craig Ogden. The album charted at number 1 on Amazon and their guitar duel version of Paganini's Caprice 24 was on the "top 10 viral videos of the year" In Guitar World and in The Guardian.
In 2015 and 2017 she was a vocal coach and expert judge on Norway's biggest Saturday night TV show; "Battle of the Stars" or "Stjernekamp" with almost a million viewers. The CIC has been an independent, unsigned artist from the very beginning. Her music has been played on radios all over the world and she has been featured in all major guitar magazines worldwide.
