Album Notes
The CoupRs were the quintessential 80's rock and roll band hailing from Missoula, Montana. They formed in 1986 and were a staple on the Pacific Northwest club scene for five years. During that period The CoupRs recorded and released two EPs; Get It Up and Cold Kisses. Nine originals and one cover song that reflect their trademark high energy and rock n roll heart. The three founding members, Tom Nash, Tim Line and Chip Whitson, continue a strong friendship and musical collaboration to this day. Very proud of their songs from this period, they have remixed and re-released them for your enjoyment. If you like INXS, Crowded House, Stray Cats, and Billy Idol you are likely to find The CoupRs right in that style. Sounding better than ever with remixing and production courtesy of Yellow Sea Horse Recording Studio in Corvallis, MT.
The CoupRs are:
Chip Whitson - Vocals, bass, guitars
Tom Nash - Guitars, bass, vocals
Tim Line - Drums, percussion, vocals
Chris Stock - Keyboards, guitars, vocals
Rob Bonnar - Keyboards, vocals
Tom Delack - Drums, vocals

Album review by Bob Wire, June 2014
Certain bands have an album that encompass a specific moment in time, creating a sound and a feel that leave no doubt what era it is from. The CoupRs anthology celebrates the mid-80s pop sound so thoroughly that there is no doubt these guys roamed the earth in the days of poofy mullets, parachute pants and bold muscle shirts.
Icy synthesizers are front and center in most of the songs, and that's the biggest aural anchor to the heyday of electric drums and dance-ready beats. Chip Whitson and Tom Nash have a great time singing these synth-pop nuggets, putting lots of yearning or salacious growling where it's called for. Their recent overhauling of the original tapes cleans up the mix without losing that '80s sheen that they created so well back in the day.
Two standout tracks are "Shake Bop," a no-frills guitar pop classic from Detroit's Jamie James and the King Bees, and the rockabilly howler "Burnin' Up" that closes the album.
These last two songs provide a startling glimpse into the potential power of the CoupRs, and what they might have gotten into if they had moved beyond the keyboard-heavy constraints of 80s pop.
