Album Notes
'Shake Your Skeleton' is the first release from the duo The Cricklewood Cats. The song was composed by Ian Ritchie with lyric by Holly Penfield and Tanya Chantler. It was recorded and mixed at Candle Studios, Kensal Green, London. Arrangement, production, saxophones, bass, ukelele, backing vocals and programming also by Ian Ritchie. The photo of the Cats was taken in Cricklewood by Tali Atzmon.

For one and a half years Ian had a regular jazz gig at The Crown bar and hotel in Cricklewood. Frequently Holly would pop in and perform with the band on a couple of tunes. Ian had already written a number of instrumentals for the band, some of which are documented on the 'Crown Moran Allstars' album. It seemed only logical to compose a few tunes for Holly to sing. So 'Shake Your Skeleton' was born, along with 'Swinging At The Savoy', 'Down The Cellar Door' and 'Chance To Dance' to name but a few. Around the kitchen table, usually with Tanya in attendance, Ian and Holly fleshed out the various songs accompanying their singing on ukeleles. The following week, they would try out the songs with the band in front of the Crown audiences. Over the coming months the product of these writing sessions will be released on CDBay.
