Album Notes
One of our favourite reviews -
From Colin Hume, UK - "Thanks so much for the CD which arrived yesterday. I really like it - a mix of slow and boisterous, and lots of variety in solo instruments. "Unrequited Love" is simply beautiful. I wasn't expecting the voices the third time through, but I realise you're not a typical ECD band - and it really works well!"

Not your typical English Country Dance band! That's us, The Dancehall Players, welcoming you once again to Dan's Hall. The doors open, the big teapot is brewing, and we're ready to enjoy a fine evening with friends.

Our new album, An Evening at Dan's Hall, is dedicated to our dear friend, fellow band member and composer, Dan Page (1930-2017). Dan's music and generosity has allowed the Victoria English Dance community to flourish for the past 20 years. Though Dan's not here - and we really miss him - the hall continues to welcome us with good memories, good fellowship and the ongoing joys of music and dance.

This is another dance album, featuring easy, intermediate and more complex dances, put together by our dance caller, Rosemary Lach, to tunes from our list of new and old favourites. The evening starts with a grand march and each half ends with original waltzes, as is our custom here in Victoria. In between is a good variety of tunes, for listening as well as dancing!
