Album Notes
Utilizing the spirit of music's past as a guiding force, My Black Arts draws inspiration from deep inside The Cutting Room's legendary New York walls. For this eclectic fourteen track LP, Charles Compo and his longtime collaborators,Jerry Brooks (bass), and Camille Gainer (drums), were once again able to conjure up the raw chemistry found on last year's self-titled debut effort. Blasting through fifty minutes of captivating music, the trio are joined by various friends including notable guitarists Eric Krasno (Soulive, Lettuce) and Vernon Reid(Living Color).

The album's title tells the story of channeling that raw chemistry between friends into music that defies genre and classification.

"My Black Arts is the story of the secret life around us. Sometimes it's hard to put your finger on how things work, why they work. We create art, or something something dynamic happens and we say 'it's a black art, mystical, you just can't ut your finer on it,'" Compo explains, "Like in a dream, when everything is so clear, and then you wake up and can't remember exactly what happened, you just remember a feeling."

All three members of The Dream Logic have toured and performed individually and together with marquis artists such as D'Angelo, Les Nubians, Alicia Keys, and Christina Aguilera. The creativity on display from this genre-bending group combines elements of rock, funk, and soul to create an experience that will be sure to resonate with the casual listener and the connoisseur alike.
