ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
On their first full-length album, The Failers combine rock and country influences with lyrics that navigate the complex terrain of human emotions. Innocent small town dreaming, wounded egos, misplaced anger, desire, love and loss. Things are never simple, and we rarely get both sides of any story. These songs come from that gray area, where you may relate but aren't so sure are true. The experiences are honest, but the storyteller may not be.

The Failers spent the better part of 2016 working on Think You're A Drag. Where their debut EP stayed largely within alt-country territory, this album is more stylistically expansive, drawing on influences by Elvis Costello, Cheap Trick, KISS, Counting Crows, and Ryan Adams. From the opening strut of Athena to the bitter country rock of Brand New Gun, the raging Gravity Fails to the brooding closer Shudder - Think You're A Drag covers a wide range of emotional ground.
