ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This, the second CD from The Flemming Fold, is an album of songs collected and written over a six year period. Having had several years of music making between CD's has giving the band a ton of material to choose from. The Flemming Fold now brings you 15 of their favorite songs, both covers and originals, on this latest release.
Their originals are truly from the heart. For example, the song, 'Steady Heart', was written in tribute to the great love between Johnny Cash and June Carter. 'The Old House' is a song lamenting early childhood moments long past, but remembered for a lifetime. Other originals include 'She's the One' about a powerful long-distance love, and 'She's Leaving Me Tonight' (aka 'The Desert Song') in which a man loses his lover due to his lack of money and her lust for it.
Their cover songs span an enormous range from the classic 1899 song, 'Keep on the Sunny Side' to the modern hit song, 'That's What's Up', all bound together by The Flemming Fold's unique style and instrumentation. The band's faith shines through in country gospel tunes like 'Calling You' from Hank Williams Sr. and the Carter Family classic, 'Meeting in the Air'. Guitarist, Troy Flemming, lends his fingerpicking skills to the guitar instrumental, 'Au contraire'. And of course, no Flemming Fold record is complete without those amazing yodel songs from the Alps. Songs like 'Ich bin ein Bergvagabund' and 'Wenn ich auf hohen Bergen steh' are sure to get your toes tapping and your vocal cords flipping. This CD has a little bit of everything! A special note: The CD's opening track was written by a group called MonaLisa Twins from Austria, and one of the MonaLisa Twins, Lisa Wagner, drew the cartoon of The Flemming Fold you'll find on the cover.

ABOUT THE FLEMMING FOLD:
"The Flemming Fold is is an exciting and versatile family music group from Southern Minnesota. They perform a wide variety of high-energy, toe-tapping music including Bluegrass, Country, Old-time, Gospel... and Alpine folk music with yodeling. This dynamic family group consists of songwriting duo, Troy and Sandra Flemming, and their two beautiful daughters. Troy, aka "The Yodelmeister," yodels with such beauty and intensity that listeners regularly assume he is from Austria or Germany. Troy is also known for his outstanding finger-style guitar playing. Sandra is an accomplished singer/songwriter and a lively piano accordionist. Their 13 year-old daughter plays both mandolin and fiddle and sings, while her 12 year-old sister sings and plays the upright bass. Audiences are continually amazed at the level of poise and professionalism that these young sisters display while entertaining. Although Troy's energetic, soaring yodels cause quite a sensation whenever he performs, he is often upstaged by his daughters with their youthful charm, mastery of their instruments, and beautiful vocal harmonies!"

Aside from their wonderful music, Troy, Sandra, and the girls enjoy the art of entertaining and making a strong connection with their audiences. For them, a performance is a great success when everyone has had a good laugh, and shed a tear. This multi-talented family has been featured on the radio and national television several times, has performed in more than 1000 concerts to date, and has fans all around the world.
