Album Notes
Recording "COLOUR SHOW"
Notes by Producer Gilbert Hetherwick

When The Flurries first approached me about producing a recording for them here at my Grouse House Studio… My first thought was that they would probably want to do overdubs and "layer" the recording in the way that most pop & rock groups have done for the past forty years or so.

So I was quite surprised and thrilled when Jerry told me that they wanted to record their songs "live" without overdubs.

To be honest… I was privately concerned that I wouldn't have the post-production "control" of the later mix that would allow us to correct mistakes or do "patch sessions" for the mistakes that almost always occur when recording pop music.

But my fears were quickly alleviated within the first two minutes of the first song when they completely blew me away with not only their terrific songs... but also the power and precision in which they were performed.  Rarely were over two takes needed… and the decisions between them were always about total performance issues and NOT about mistakes.  There simply weren't any.

I have never worked with a group of musicians who were better prepared or disciplined in their performances.

The Flurries are "the real deal".  GREAT songs… GREAT players…
and TRUE Passion in their performances.
The world needs to hear The Flurries….

...and I am VERY proud to have been a part of this production.
