Levitation

by The Free Range Experiment

The Free Range Experiment is an improvisational quartet of multi-instrumentalists. At times rhythmic and groove-heavy, at other times ambient, even meditative, their music reveals a broad spectrum of synchronicity, surprises, and happy accidents.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Free Range Experiment is an improvisational quartet of multi-instrumentalists that came together in May of 2000.

At times rhythmic and groove-heavy, at other times ambient, even meditative, The Free Range Experiment's sound-world reveals a broad spectrum of human (and non-human!) emotions and ideas. As with all improvised music, the energies of the moment, as well as synchronicity, surprises, and happy accidents combine with the players' intuitions to form an organically evolving music that couldn't have been scored in advance. Listeners have described listening to The Free Range Experiment as akin to taking an inner psychic journey, wandering through a dreamscape, and wading through the lifeform-filled waters at a strange, alien beach...
