ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Georgia Fats are a new band made up of three members with long histories in Canadian Music. Starting with Barry Taylor who was a founding member in 1978 of the Young Canadians along with Art Bergmann who's song "Hawaii" is a punk anthem in Canada to this day. Barry went on to many fantastic years on the road with the infamous Roots Roundup known as Canada's ultimate punky reggae party!
Before Newfoundland’s Boyd Norman was out of his teens he had already recorded on vinyl and 8-track, worked regularly as a studio musician for CBC television, and had equipment stolen while on tour; a good start to any musical career. Boyd is also the bassist and a founding member the Rakish Angles.
Award winning guitarist Joël Fafard's career started in1997 with Winnipeg's Scruj MacDuhk, Joël went on to release nine solo albums winning a WCMA for Instrumental Album of the year, Fafard was also nominated for a Juno while getting the chance tour from New Zealand to South Africa.
Together they have started a trio that in a very short time has become greater than the sum of it's parts.
