ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Genuine Cowbilly Music: "Cowboyed-up classic country with Hillbilly flair"

Whilst venturing about the American Frontier, a Pilgrim is bound to have tales to tell…

Playful and provoking, “Tribal Pilgrim” introduces new twists on classic themes and sheds light into places once dark. With roots in the soil and dreams in the sky, Tribal Pilgrim celebrates far-flung corners of American culture and music. Staged in a simpler time, the Journey is supported by musicianship which mirrors the sparse and profound beauty of the West. As our guide, Miss “V” delivers her signature flair for the unique and unexpected.

Tribal Pilgrim celebrates those who have found their way and now guide the rest of us.

Itinerant wanderings of The Pilgrim lead to bypast charlatans and rodeo heroes; sea faring tales and Dust Bowl travails; and follow Trails across the land and sky. Soul searching, heartache and triumph are encountered as the most unlikely protagonists appear alongside predictable favorites. Delightfully entertaining while informative and introspective in turn, the Journey is bound to the Land while shooting for the stars.

“Tribal Pilgrim” offers something for everyone!

The Gypsy Cowbelle’s ‘Genuine Cowbilly’ sound bridges a broad musical gamut. Dancers will two-step with “Long Legged Cowboy” and waltz with “Lord of the Plains”. Honky Tonkers will find a Bakersfield groove in “Tribal Pilgrim” and “Tears I Cried” and a rollicking saloon piano in “Resolve”. Those who appreciate “quirky” will identify with “Cliché Song” while “The Store Whose Door Never Opens” offers an enchanting twist and much to ponder for the “thinking type”. True adventurers will recognize the significance of “Dawn In the Night” and lovers of the West will identify with “East to Go West”. Old-time Appalachian picking spices up “Hole In My Heart” and “The Pony” while “New Kid In Town” pairs a contemporary tale with a classic campfire melody. Poignant simplicity and elegant harmonies grace “The Beach Is On Fire” and Gypsy rhythms add a powerful drive to “Dust In Their Eyes.”

Drift between focal points ~ enchanting ensembles and captivating lyrics ~ and Tribal Pilgrim is apt to find a spot among your favorites. Classic yet inventive, enduring yet imminent, this blend of the old and new pioneers new territories among Western Folk annals. Armed with a refreshing quiver of new yarns, The Gypsy Cowbelle is always entertaining, while remaining:
“Nothing Fancy But Guaranteed Authentic!”

Reviews:

"Tribal Pilgrim" is a showcase of windows into lives around our country.
Stories outside the norm and worth telling that somehow came to the
attention of our host and writer, "V" ~ The Gypsy Cowbelle. These tales are
neatly woven by her singing accompanied by a broad brush of skilled
instrumentalists and harmony vocals. Then there is "V"s own rollicking
banjo to liven things up. Set mostly in the western parts of the country
there are views into the East here and there and one lady that was not
limited by East, West, or even the ground. Think of this roadtrip as
directed by the skewed pen of a modern Mark Twain and you'll do fine.
"V", thanks for the ride. ~ Rex Rideout, Time Travel Music

...Can’t believe how many great songs "V" has written! So jaunty and meaningful at the same time. Much poetry, really...~ Elaine and Don R.
