ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, The Hildegard Singers, Linn Maxwell, Barbara McCargar, Diane Penning and Lisa Walhout, each have outstanding solo careers and have come together to celebrate the hauntingly beautiful music of Hildegard of Bingen. We specialize in unaccompanied vocal music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance and our audiences respond with enthusiasm and joy. We made our first recording in 2011 and have appeared in concerts and conferences in Michigan and Florida. In addition to the music of Hildegard, we perform medieval vocal gems from Spain and France, and also include Gregorian chant in their programs. Each Christmas we perform seasonal carols, chants and motets, so in 2015 we decided to bring out this CD of audience favorites. We hope you will enjoy this festive music and have a blessed Christmas.
