ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album features the rhythmic old time fiddling of Gabrielle Macrae and the driving banjo playing of Barry Southern, riding the line between Old Time and early Bluegrass. Playing traditional Appalachian fiddle tunes, a few originals and some classic early Bluegrass songs the album is the result of the work of two musicians who for years have been steeped in the traditions of American fiddle music. With bass and guitar from Kevin Sandri and Brian Bagdonas, two exemplars of the west coast Old Time sound, the album goes from high energy dance tunes to sweet and melodic fiddle-banjo duets to haunting ballads with close harmonies and heartbreaking lyrics.
