ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Three years after The Ills released the critically acclaimed "Ornamental Or Mental" album, the band comes back with a fifth studio album. This time we see the Bratislava-based instrumental quartet choosing an unknown adventurous path where the typical dreamy landscapes and epic guitar walls meet new sound textures and rhythm patterns that keep the listener wide awake and eager to hear what comes next.

The new record called "Disco Volante / Mt. Average" is divided into two sections not just musically or by the name, but also by the writer(s) and the theme(s). While the first side "Disco Volante", mostly built up on the ideas brought by the guitarist Miro Luky, is naturally following up on the previous work and continues to develop the classic sound of The Ills, the second side "Mt. Average" is built up on the motives mostly brought by the other guitarist Martin Iso Krajčír and is not afraid to take risks and to discover new possibilities.

The band's fifth album is inviting the listener on an adventurous musical journey which according to the band members themselves will hopefully take them on an exciting ride through unexplored sonic landscapes and wide universe of incomprehensible melodies.
