ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
For almost ten years The Infinite Three have toiled on the periphery of music, sculpting new shapes from art-rock, post-punk, dub, drone and noise. Their fifth studio album, Ascension Zone, is also their first entirely instrumental release and sees the band throw themselves headlong into propulsive rhythmic experiments, dark psyche atmospheres and some unexpectedly melodic orchestrations.

Despite the song-based approach to their previous albums, The Infinite Three are no strangers to wordless music. Their annual Winter Solstice singles have explored cinematic sound-worlds and psychedelic improvisation and several fan-only instrumental recordings are available to subscribers on Bandcamp.

Ascension Zone sharpens the focus of their instrumental work even further, offering eight tightly wound pieces of jagged art-rock, adorned with shimmering atmospherics.
