A Person Like You

by The Kings of Crownsville

This is a group of musicians making original, contemporary music with flavorful New Orleans influences. Using horns, four part harmonies and thoughtful , sometimes quirky, lyrics, they have created a musical gumbo that will keep you well satisfied.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Think Louis Armstrong meets Steely Dan," was the way a friend once described our sound, and I think that description still holds up. The Kings of Crownsville have been around for over a decade now and this is our third album . Coming from the Baltimore/Annapolis/Washington D.C. area, we have been playing the music found in this cd in the various venues of the Mid-Atlantic area for some time now. Consequently, when we entered the studio, we were ready to record these tunes as a live performance rather than the usual approach of doing one track at a time. Our hope is that we have conveyed the spirit of our live performances in this album for the folks who have come to see us. The Kings of Crownsville like to tell musical stories that are original in sound and content. With our instruments and our voices we hope to have you laughing and crying as you take a trip with us into the American musical landscape.
