Album Notes
“River to Nowhere” is the second album from Wisconsin recording artists the Lizardz, and the follow up to 2013’s critically acclaimed “Eyeblinder”, featuring Buck Dharma and Richie Castellano of Blue Oyster Cult and mastered at Abbey Road Studios. An audio journey through the flatlands of the midwest, “River to Nowhere” features 10 songs that capture the collective songwriting and musical contributions of each member of this central Wisconsin quintet. Written, recorded, mixed and mastered by the Lizardz, this album is 100% a group collaboration.

Tracks like “Just a Big Star” and “Where She Goes” are pure power pop in the vein of Cheap Trick and the Who, while the massive “Ordinary Skies” and “River to Nowhere” are pure Floydian psychedelia. A unique track, and a band favorite is “Stomp Face”, a live multitrack studio take with minimal production and only one guitar track added. This blast of jazz/funk madness is the Lizardz in pure performance mode.

“Early Springtime Rainfall” and “Gypsy Moth,” from the pen of guitarist Milo and friends are equal parts Bob Seger anthem and mini rock operas. Add in the Cars-like “In Your Room”, the Dylanesque “Staring at Silence” and the Supertramp inspired “Dirty Town” and you have another genre-bending album from the ‘Zardz!

The Lizardz are:

Not prog but headed in that direction at times with this album. And well worth the listen. Borders on classic Pink Floyd and the Cars thru out and doesn't disappoint. Solid guitar work and songwriting. Wish it was also available on vinyl. Recommended...!
