ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
It has been described as ‘psycho ceilidh’, ‘whiskey-soaked folk’ and just plain old ‘partying music’ – whatever it is, The Logues have made the genre their own. From their humble beginnings in a sleepy County Tyrone village, they have become one of Ireland’s most sought-after live bands.

Made up of drums, bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, tin whistle and vocals, The Logues have been bringing their folk-rock circus to audiences throughout Ireland and parts of the UK since St. Patrick's Day 2006, when they formed for what was supposed to be a one off gig to fulfil a drunken promise. Since then however they have become one of the busiest bands in the country, making regular appearances at top venues like The Garavogue in Sligo, The Quays in Galway and Voodoo in Letterkenny.

Signed to Ireland’s most respected live music booking agency, AMA Music Agency (The Coronas, Paddy Casey, Aslan to name a few), the band have a busy 2014 and 2015 ahead, which will include a Dutch tour, an upcoming Irish theatre tour and making a return to Dubai for the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations; a gig that saw them play to 5000 people last year.

Following on from their 2011 album release, ‘Tough at the Bottom’, the band have just released a new single, ‘Fly Free’, a dark, melodic love song inspired by lyrics that friend of the band Andy Cox was kind enough to share.
