ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Foreword:

Welcome to the new Lonesome Days record! This stuff is strong. Tight harmony singing, playing that is solid and calls to mind everybody from the Stanley Brothers (Open the Gate), Norman Blake (Hold on to What You’re Holdin’), the gypsy jazz feel of some DGQ songs (Anthem for the Lonely), and The Steel Drivers (Chasin’ Down the Whiskey). This young Colorado band is off to a great start with this collection of original songs touching on some classic bluegrass themes of life, love, loss, loneliness - and drinking. Sally Van Meter did an excellent job of coaxing the best from this young group while still keeping it lively and loose. Sam, Todd, Bradley and Jonny can be proud of this one!

- Nick Forster
