Album Notes
THE LORD CALVERTS . . . NOW! is an explosive collection of all-original garage rock/power pop from the New York-based quintet.
The band claims that their roots are in Baltimore, where, as part of the burgeoning Sixties garage-rock scene, they recorded for obscure labels and occasionally got a song into the lower rungs of the local charts. Truth or myth, their music is clearly influenced by that era, but with a sound that is absolutely current. The Lord Calverts deliver true American roots rock: fast, catchy and rude.
THE LORD CALVERTS are singer Kevin Lydon, guitarist Askold Buk, guitarist and keyboardist Jed Becker, bassist William X. Harvey and drummer Rich Capitelli. For the past two years, the LCs have been playing relentlessly at clubs and dives in Manhattan and Brooklyn, generating a lot of buzz for their incendiary energy, unpredictability and undeniable joy.
