Album Notes
At last the latest by The Lot, a group which manages to provoke both devotion and fanatical indifference. Detractors call "Your Rock is Waiting" everything from "difficult", to "intellectual", to the ultimate insult, "existential". But its followers need no labels or epithets. They merely sense the privilege of owning a work of astonishing individuality and power. Rarely has an independent release become so quickly an obscure "classic".

Soren Roquentin.
It is tempting to find Roquentin a rather sad and pathetic character. But that would be to consider only the outward appearance of the man. Within that diffident, withdrawn exterior is a mind of staggering boldness, if only aroused in the curious realm of dreams. Sleep is supposed to have accompanied his finest inspiration. Such was the origin of "Shipwrecked Outside My Windowsill", a piece displaying his fantastic range of introspective thought. The laggard wading through silence, the meaningless journey completed to nowhere, the shipwreck itself; all is painted in music. Roquentin's song is again a masterpiece of vividness and economy.

Dave Ganci.
Filled with obsessions and illnesses of the spirit, stymied in devastating pessimism, sick with the wish to live forever, or die in her arms, Ganci's romanticism is a main reason for The Lot's vitality. He simply can not write other than melodically. "Pretending in the Evening" is one long procession of superb melodic ideas colored by some of the most exquisite harmonic hues ever devised. It expresses, not uncommonly for The Lot, a pang of sadness masked in triumph or whimsy. The Lot makes perverse use of the moods lamentation and deep despair.

On Spot ahead of its time conept record
This is a record that fills in the cracks of music in not only a syrupy classic influence
of great bands from the 60s and 80s like the good old Beatles meets Duran Duran
meets something new. A concept record of philosophical proportions
echoing writings of Camus with a heavy handed musical pop classical influence.
A must listen!
