Album Notes
Rooted in ‘90s alternative and classic Rock & Roll, The Lovely Lost are not afraid to delve into their vast array of influences - touches of classic soul, ‘70s folk and country, ‘80s metal, and much more. Sound eclectic? The self-titled album recalls hazy afternoons spent rummaging through inherited collections of old tapes and records.

Singer-songwriter Michael Collins’s raw, exposed songwriting explores love, heartbreak, and the road to recovery, while his powerful vocal delivery simmers, boils over, and eventually erupts across the tracks. Singer Jo Bewley’s silky harmonies and additional leads temper the madness, while the rock-solid rhythm section locks together to explore the Portland quintet’s dynamic range of styles.

“If you dismiss The Lovely Lost at surface level, thinking that you've heard it all before, and hit the skip button, you'll be missing out on a fine jewel of jangle fuzz folk grunge... It should be interesting to see where their trajectory takes them.”
- J. Simpson - The Equal Ground

"With catchy, ruthless hooks The Lovely Lost deliver intense and memorable songs that will stick to you like musical honey. Michael Collins, the principal songwriter creates vulnerable yet gritty strong tunes that those with a heartbeat can identify with and make their own. With such diverse offerings as: “Is It You?”, “I Live Alone”, and the homage to the great Sam Cooke with “Nothing At All”, The Lovely Lost make beautiful music that you will want to get lost with over and over again."
- Jason Allen - Anarchy Radio
